Student work

Since embarking on my undergraduate studies in 2017 at Brigham Young University - Idaho, I've had the privilege of working alongside esteemed mentors and educators. While pursuing my degree in construction management, I made the deliberate choice to specialize in architecture, aiming to cultivate a well-rounded skill set.

Under the guidance of licensed architects actively engaged in their field, many of my classes provided a strong emphasis on design principles applicable to various construction sectors, be it residential, commercial, or mixed use design. At BYU-Idaho, construction management majors like myself were immersed in design courses where we learned to articulate and defend our design ideas in front of jurors and mock clients.

Moreover, we gained proficiency in utilizing BIM (Building Information Modeling) technologies to optimize the construction process. Personally, I expanded my expertise by earning an associate's degree in Architectural Technologies, further augmenting my abilities in construction management and design.

In addition, I obtained a drafting certificate, demonstrating my proficiency in industry-standard programs and highlighting my capability to effectively utilize drafting tools in real-world scenarios.

While managing my academic workload, I supported several professors as a Teaching Assistant. In the realm of Presentation Graphics, I aided the professor in instructing students on sketching, computer graphics, and project rendering. Additionally, I served as a TA for Statics and Strengths of Materials, guiding students through foundational structural calculation concepts.

The Crossings

The aim of this educational project was to illustrate a multifamily housing development centered around a communal green area, highlighting the significance of shared spaces. This green space acts as a focal point for connecting multiple generations of local families, fostering community interaction and unity over time.

An intro to Stick Building

In my experience, the best way to learn has always been to just try and make something, and then try and break whatever it is that you just made. In this pass/fail final to our framing class, myself and Chloe (my partner in this class), where given 3 weeks to construct a 1” = 12” scale model of a standard American home. In order to pass, 5 people would have to stand on top of the model without it collapsing.

Here’s some more examples of my student work.
