Who I Am
As a native of Birmingham, my career journey began in construction labor, where I worked with a general contractor renovating single family homes. Witnessing the transformation of these properties as they were refurbished and reintroduced to the housing market ignited a desire within me to contribute to my community. However, I recognized that I lacked the necessary skills and resources to make a significant impact.
Upon enrolling at Brigham Young University - Idaho, I pursued a degree in fine art. Initially struggling to find my voice while throwing clay around a potters wheel, I took an architectural history class, and the intersection of ideas, material and communities found in architecture captivated me. Consequently, I shifted my focus to a degree in construction management with a emphasis in architecture, the closest program BYU offered to my newfound interest. Although different from a traditional B-ARCH program in its emphasis on technical knowledge over artistic exploration, it provided a solid foundation for my aspirations.
My time at BYUI fueled my passion for design and the built environment, leading me to secure my first job as an architectural draftsman during a summer job in Dallas, Texas, in 2019. Since then, I have been dedicated to honing my skills and expertise in architecture and design.
Utilizing NCARB's experience pathway to licensure, I have received my Architectural license, and have begun developing my own portfolio of work.

What I’m up to after deadlines
Playing in the mud
During my high school years, I gained a reputation as a dedicated potter. My attire was often marked by a thin layer of clay, evidence of countless hours spent at the pottery wheel. I would start my day early, shaping clay before the school bell rang, squeeze in visits to the pottery room between classes to monitor the firing of pieces, and linger after school to further hone my skills. This passion followed me into college, where I initially pursued a Fine Arts degree with a focus on ceramics.
A walk Run in the woods
At 14, I never imagined myself as a runner. Overweight and lacking dedication, I felt out of place among my more athletic peers. But I took a chance and joined my high school's cross country team, and soon enough, I caught the running bug. Despite consistently being one of the slower runners, I stuck with it, training alongside my teammates.
Even after high school, I continued running without any particular goal in mind. Until 2022, when I decided to train for my first marathon. A year later I ran my second with Nathan, my brother whom I trained with in high school, in Edison Montana, (boasting the highest elevation road race in the united states). I most recently ran the Boulderthon in Boulder, Colorado, and I’m looking forward to many more races to come!
Baking…
Gingerbread, one of the most sustainable and economical building materials out there. It’s easily sourced, easily formed, and when baked creates a robust rigid structure with little reinforcement. It also has the added benefit of being 100% edible, a quality most other building materials cannot match. Make sure to use PPE when constructing a gingerbread structure, the fumes are a known nasal irritant.
Adventures with the pups
Meet Zeus and Kai, Two adventurous and loving dogs. Zeus is a bit more of a homebody, but Kai makes frequent trips to the office with me. My coworkers have called her the office “Productivity manager,” making sure that none of us get too overwhelmed with stress.
